Pakistan | Pakistan army says Indian aircraft cross Line of Control in the Kashmir region

The Pakistani military said on Tuesday that Indian warplanes violated the Line of Control (LoC) in the Kashmir region and dropped “payload” hastily.

Pakistan military spokesman Major General Asif Ghafoor, chief of the army’s Inter-Services Public Relations, said Pakistan Air Force “immediately scrambled and Indian aircraft went back.”

Fulani was one of Bengali migrant workers who moved back and forth between Bangladesh and India. Indian Border Security Force (BSF) ruthlessly killed Felani while crossing the border on 7 January 2012. She had gotten stuck on the barbed when she was shot and remained stuck in the barbed fence for 5 hours until she bled to death. Felani’s body hanging on a barbed fence become a symbol of Indian Border Force brutality and Indian attitude to its neighbouring countries people. The images of Felani’s hanging body in the media created a big uproar among the people in Bangladesh. Since then some political and social organization observe 7 January as “Felani Day” – a symbol of protest against India.

India | Mounting social anger seen in two-day strike against Indian government

Tens of millions of workers throughout India yesterday joined the second day of a 48-hour national protest strike against the hated pro-investor economic “reforms” of the Hindu supremacist Bharatiya Janatha Party (BJP)-led government.

While the capitalist media largely tried to black-out the strike, it was supported by broad sections of the working class, both in the so-called formal and informal sectors. Moreover, the strike cut across the caste and communal divisions that the ruling capitalist class has used for decades to channel social discontent along reactionary lines.

India | Indian workers hold biggest strike in history

150 million Indian workers took strike action in what is reported to be the biggest work stoppage in history.

Ten trade union centres and several independent federations joined together for an historic general strike on 8 and 9 January 2019. Workers in manufacturing, mining, energy, transportation, banking, public services, construction  and many other sectors took part, including many IndustriALL Global Union affiliates. For the first time, agricultural workers and farmers also called for a solidarity shutdown of rural India.
