Kiev controlled troops increase shelling of Donetsk republic

According to Donetsk news agency the military forces of Kiev regime have increased their activity in East Ukraine and numerously shell the territory under Donetsk People’s Republic control. On August 14 head of the Donetsk People’s Republic Mission to the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination Ruslan Yakubov said Ukrainian army units shelled Yasinovataya with mortars on Tuesday morning.

“Ukrainian forces fired 20 82 mm mortar rounds at Yasinovataya from 05:50 till 06:20 today”. Fire had been delivered from Kiev-controlled Avdeyevka. Earlier reports said Kiev forces violated the ceasefire seven times over the past 24 hours firing more than 180 rounds at the DPR territory.

On August 15 violence increased further. A civilian woman has been injured in Kominternovo in southern DPR as a result of shelling perpetrated by Kiev forces. Totally Kiev army units expended 188 rounds targeting DPR in the past 24 hours, damage reported. As  Ruslan Yakubov said: “Ukrainian armed forces violated the ceasefire 13 times over the past 24 hours, firing 188 rounds.”

Trudovskaya Sakhta, Spartak, Staromikhailovka, Izotova Sakhta, Yasinovataya, Kominternovo, Sakhanka, Novaya Tavria were targeted with 82mm and 120mm mortars, IFV, APC cannons, RPG, SPG and small arms. Ten houses are reported damaged in Staromikhailovka and Kominternovo. The rounds under 12.7mm are not included in this report.

On August 16 Ukrainian side has limited shelling but DPR officials report on numerous damages. Ukrainian army units violated the ceasefire three times over the past 24 hours, firing 39 rounds of ammunition at Donetsk People’s Republic frontline areas.

Gorlovka’s Dolomitnoye neighbourhood and the Leninskoye and Sakhanka villages in southern DPR were targeted with automatic grenade launchers (AGS), anti-tank rocket propelled grenade launchers (RPG), recoilless guns (SPG) and small arms.

Head of Donetsk’s Petrovskiy district administration Maxim Zhukovskiy said that a utility shed had been damaged at 22 Safonova Street, Trudovskiye neighbourhood, in shelling by Ukrainian forces. A team of the DPR Mission to the JCCC went to the scene to obtain evidence of the aftermath of the shelling.

On August 15 the command of Kiev forces ordered an increase in the combat readiness of the rocket artillery systems and conducted military exercises with the participation of the Uragan MLRS in the immediate vicinity of the demarcation line with DPR.
