Political wing of SDF to open offices in Latakia, Damascus, Hama, Homs

The political wing of the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) is going to open offices in several provinces inside Syria, the Spokesperson of the SDF, Ilham Ahmad, said on Thursday.

According to Ahmad, the SDF’s political wing will be opening offices in the provinces of Latakia, Damascus, Hama, and Homs.

This move comes after another meeting between the Syrian government and Syrian Democratic Council (SDF) in northern Syria.

Earlier in the week, it was announced that the SDF and Syrian government would have joint control over the Tishreen Dam in western Al-Raqqa.

While some members of the SDC deny the government has reached out to mend relations, a source in Damascus told Al-Masdar this week that peace talks are going well.

This same source told Al-Masdar two weeks that the government and SDC reached an agreement in the Al-Hasakah Governorate that would allow for the former to eventually control the province.

Al-Masdar is awaiting a response regarding the latest claims by Ilham Ahmad’s comments.
