Iraqi and Syrian forces are close to victory over ISIS

On November 17 the Iraqi Armed Forces officially liberated the strategic city of Al-Rawa in western Al-Anbar, today, after a short operation against the so-called Islamic State (ISIS) terrorist group.

Led by the 7th and 8th divisions of the army, the Iraqi Armed Forces began this offensive two weeks ago, liberating the nearby city of Al-Rumanah to kickoff their operations.

London activists brought a strong antiwar message to the seat of the United Kingdom’s government Oct. 28, calling for an end to British military and other aid to Ukraine; implementation of the Minsk peace agreements; justice for the scores of antifascists murdered on May 2, 2014, at the House of Trade Unions fire in Odessa and solidarity with all antifascists in the Donbass and Ukraine.

USA | Drexel professor suspended following right-wing attack

PHILADELPHIA — George Ciccariello-Maher, a controversial left-wing professor at Drexel University in this city, was placed on administrative leave in October after a string of death threats from far-right internet trolls. All of his classes were cancelled for the quarter without a replacement. The university has stated that this is a step meant to “ensure the safety of our campus.”
