Russia | The St. Isaac’s cathedral affair – Russia’s constitutional court approves state of lawlessness

In a ruling of Russia’s Constitutional Court, issued on July 18, fifteen out of sixteen judges ruled that a state of lawlessness now prevails in the country, in which the constitutional rights of citizens to have courts adjudicate government decisions, with evidence and reasoning, have been abolished.

Ukraine | Kiev-controlled forces increase activity at contact line in Donbas

On August 20 the Ukrainian forces launched 267 mortar rounds and shells on the territory of the Donetsk republic over the past 24 hours. “In the Donetsk direction, the enemy used artillery, tanks and mortars. Two projectiles with the caliber of 152-mm, 22 tank shells, nine projectiles of 122-mm caliber, 70 rounds of the caliber of 120-mm and 102 of the 82-mm caliber were fired at the settlements and adjacent areas,” the Vice-Commander of the Operational Command of the Republic Eduard Basurin said.

USA | Senator McCain made friends with Nazis

Republican Sen. John McCain of Arizona once met with a well-known right-wing nationalist party in Ukraine during mass protests of 2013-2014, Robert Donachie, The Daily Caller reporter, wrote recently.

His visit to Kiev “was reportedly to show U.S. support for the protesters, but his trip to Ukraine was notable for another reason. McCain was repeatedly photographed standing next to and meeting with Oleh Tyahnybok, the leader of the right-wing nationalist Svoboda Party, Business Insider reported.
