INTERNATIONAL ANTIFASCIST FORUM

Athens (Greece) from 9 to 12 October 2015, an international forum «European forum for Donbass» was held. It was dedicated to the support of the people of this region, the achievement of peace and the implementation of the Minsk Agreement. The forum founded up “International Anti-Fascist Committee». The purpose of the Forum is: to inform the European public about the events in the Donbas, holding solidarity actions with its people, providing humanitarian assistance. The objective of the Forum was also the creation of a Pan-European Anti-Fascist Organization, and in the future – the creation of the World Anti-Fascist Organization. Their interest in its creation proclaimed representatives of the countries of Asia, Africa and America.
Forum was held in the building of the Supreme administration of Greek civil servants trade unions. The room was small and was prepared only for delegates of the closed congress. About 40 delegates have visited the forum, but not all wanted to be photographed.

Forum was opened by a Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Forum Andreas Zafiris.

Then all the participants spoke about their activities, help for the Donbas, the breakthrough of information blockade, the real struggle against fascism.
The conference was interrupted by an urgent message about the death of 86 people after bomb blast in Ankara. The Conference observed a minute of silence the memory of the victims.
Chief coordinator of the International platform «Global Rights of Peaceful People» Serge Marx gave all delegates icons «Save Donbas people. Stop third world war» and a book in English about events in Odessa, May 2 «I saw the death» and he stressed that his organization’s experience can be useful for work of created «International Antifascist Committee».

The organization was established August 2, 2014 in Hungary. Today it has branches in five European countries. Initially, it was going to keep the peaceful citizens of Ukraine in their struggle against Ukrainian neo-fascism, but now its tasks include also humanitarian catastrophe caused by the war in Syria, Libya, Iraq, Afghanistan, the fight against nuclear weapons and NATO. Serge Marx outlined the result of the work of the organization. It is very significant: nearly one hundred exhibitions “Odessa’s Khatyn” and “Humanitarian catastrophe of Donbas”, action “We remember Odessa” May 2, 2015 in 25 countries and 52 cities, support of illegally detained Ukrainian anti-fascists, information pickets against the war in the Donbas, the collection of humanitarian aid for the innocent people of Donbas, assistance to refugees from the Ukraine into the EU, showing documentaries about Odessa and Donbas, aid for group Banda Bassoti with its a trip to the Donbas, participating in various events dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the victory over fascism.
In addition, Serge Marx announced a film festival “Prism”, dedicated to the Ukraine, and in particular, the Odessa tragedy. The festival will be held on November 26-27 in Berlin cinema “BABILON”, Address Rosa-Luxemburg-Straße 30, 10178 Berlin. 6 films will be demonstrated:

During the forum economic, political and military situation in the region of Donbas was discussed, the organization of humanitarian aid to residents and information of the general public about the events in the Donbas and unification of political forces in Europe as a whole.

During the informal dialogue at the Forum participants had the idea to establish an International Day of Remembrance of civilians killed by the Nazis in peacetime. International Anti-Fascist Committee is planning to set a date and register it in the UN. It was also decided to consider the possibility of holding an international demonstration on the report of Commission of Ukrainian Army downed Malaysian Boeing.
October 11 began a discussion of goals, objectives and activities of the International Anti-Fascist Committee. After the discussion, the delegation of 14 countries adopted the Declaration of the Forum. It noted that fascism in Ukraine is not limited to this one country and this is a part of global offensive of US imperialism and NATO on the rights of peaceful citizens of sovereign states of the world, including in Syria and other countries. Forum recognizes the need for the following steps:
a) Formation of the International Anti-Fascist Committee in sections and strong fighting forces. Memberships can be twofold: observer or an active participant.
b) Information and political support. Joint actions, demonstrations, organization of rallies (for example against NATO bases in Europe), distribution of leaflets and the fight against the falsity of mass media propaganda.
c) Coordination of the actions at the international level
When the secretariat of the Committee was elected under the temporary chairmanship of Greece, which included a representative of the member states and the main coordinator of international platform «Global Rights of Peaceful People». They decided to establish an information site, blogs and groups in Facebook. All the participants exchanged contacts and committed themselves to continuously engage of new members to the committee from different countries.
During the break, participants of the forum visited the photo exhibition “The humanitarian catastrophe of Donbas” organized by the Association “Fyodor Dostoevsky”.
In the evening from 18.30 to 22.00 in the walls of the Polytechnic University of Athens it was held open to all interested conference, which accounted for about 300 professors and university students and residents of the Athens.
