Russian consul is expelled from Ukraine

July 17 The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine on the basis of the report of the Security Service of Ukraine declared persona non grata by the Acting Consul General of Russia in Odessa. On the same day the consul left the territory of Ukraine.
Russian Foreign Ministry said that it was preparing a “symmetrical response”. Presumably some Ukrainian diplomat will be expelled from Russia.
The aggravation of Ukrainian-Russian relations takes place at the background of a controversial parliamentary vote in Ukraine for definition of the constitutional status of Donbas. Perhaps the Ukrainian government deliberately aggravates the situation for the breakdown of the peace agreements for the Donbas.
