German parliamentary report describes Turkey as an invader in Syria

A report drafted by the German Bundestag’s Scientific Services Department suggests that Turkey’s role in Syria qualifies as an occupying force, Deutsche Welle Turkish service reported on Wednesday, citing press agency Deutsche Presse-Agentur (DPA).

“When examined closely, Turkey’s military presence in Afrin as well as Azaz, Al Bab and Jarablus in northern Syria fits into the description of military occupation from an international law standpoint,” the report read.

The deal Russia and Turkey made over Idlib hasn’t come to fruition yet. Turkey has to convince their own gangs still. But Erdogan has already pointed to Kurds as the next target.

The deal announced after Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s meeting last week foresees a buffer zone.

Turkey says France sending troops to Syria would be ‘invasion’

Turkey on Saturday warned France against increasing its military presence in Syria, saying it would be an “invasion”, as tensions between Paris and Ankara remained high.

Temperatures were raised after French President Emmanuel Macron on Thursday met a delegation of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) made up of Kurdish and Arab fighters.

Pro-Syrian Gov’t Forces to Enter Afrin ‘Within Hours’ – State Media

While Damascus has yet to comment on the information, a YPG official previously debunked claims that the Syrian army is set to enter the battle in Afrin.

Syrian state television channel Ikhbariya reported that pro-Syrian government forces would enter Syria’s Afrin area “within hours.”
