France | New Caledonia after the referendum “Sooner or later, we will have independence”

A referendum was organized on November 4 in New Caledonia. Voters were asked to answer the question, “Do you want New Caledonia to become a fully sovereign and independent country?” The higher circles announced a landslide No vote against independence. Some polls had even predicted a hefty 75% No vote. But finally, only 56.4% out of the 141,099 voters put a No ballot slip in the box.

The Democratic Independent Workers Party of France issued a statement on recent police violence in Catalonia. They state it was a true face of the EU shown to the world.

Spain | Referendum in Catalonia has finished

Some 761 people have been injured in disturbances across Catalonia on Sunday, the regional government said, as riot police clashed with people who had gathered for a banned referendum on the region’s independence from Spain. Despite the police action, hundreds-strong queues of people formed in cities and villages throughout the region to cast their ballots.
