MH17: JIT’s expiring mandate

by Célia Schmidt

The year is ending and so is the mandate of the Joint International Team investigating the downing of flight MH17. It’s time to provide the results of the prosecutors’ work. No need to say how it’s important to identify and pursue those responsible for shooting down Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 on 17 July 2014 in Ukraine. Otherwise, the perpetrators will feel like they have impunity. But as the investigation progresses, more questions to the JIT and more doubts about their ability to find responsible for the death of 298 passengers arise.

The Lie that Shot Down Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17

by John Helmer

One side of a well-used coin is the maxim that truth is the first casualty of war. The other side of the coin is that lying is the first weapon of war. According to the ancient Chinese general Sun Tzu, that’s because all warfare is based on deception. He meant that lying – propaganda, camouflage, false flags, disinformation, infowar, cyber war — is a precondition for winning battles at least, if not wars. As the US military learned since Vietnam, lying is no guarantee of winning.

Russia | Russia trolling JIT MH17

Two of my previous articles discussed studies pretending to dissect trolls disrupting the honest flow of information about the MH17 debate. In Weaponizing info about MH17 I dissected a study published by Chatham House and Dutch journos trolling Russia is about some outlandish claims by Dutch weekly De Groene Amsterdammer.

Russia | Russia: Missile that shot down flight MH17 was Ukrainian

The Russian military said on Monday that the missile that shot down Malaysia Airlines Flight 17, killing all 298 people on board, came from the arsenals of the Ukrainian army, not from Russia.

The jet was shot down by a Soviet-made missile over rebel-held eastern Ukraine in July 2014, about 40 kilometers (25 miles) from the Russian border, where fighting had been raging for months between Ukrainian forces and Russian-backed separatists.

The MH 17 False Flag, One of Many

by Gordon Duff

It was July 17, 2014 and a war was raging in Ukraine between American-backed extremists who had taken Kiev in a bloody coup and purge. A Malaysian Airlines passenger jet with 298 onboard was directed by air traffic controllers themselves controlled by the same bloody regime that had just taken power, toward closed air space.
