European lawmakers ask Amazon to stop selling Soviet-themed merchandise

Members of the European Parliament have called on the Amazon CEO, Jeff Bezos, to stop selling Soviet-themed merchandise on the global online shopping platform insisting that it is offends victims of the regime, according to an open letter.

Maidan massacre: four years later

An unprecedented event took place in the European Parliament. On the margins of the ongoing EU summit, new investigative materials concerning the tragic incidents that took place in Maidan in 2014 were presented. In the coference uder the title „Maidan revolution 4 years later”, hosted by MEP Bill Etheridge, attended the representatives of many human rights organizations,  media and the European parliamentarians. There was present also the Scottish MEP David Coburn. Latvian MEP Miroslav Mitrofanov who showed special interest in presentation invited all the speakers to his office to discuss possible means of action.

Ukraine | European MEPs Will Address the Problem of Neo-Fascism in Ukraine

A group of Deputies in the European Parliament (EP) are creating a special format of a working group for discussion about the problem of the spreading neo-fascist moods in Ukraine. On September 27th the first hearing on this topic will take place. The organizers, who consider it to be important to show “an objective picture of what is going on in the country”, reported to “Izvestiya”. All Deputies of the EP are invited to the meeting. Guests from the Ukrainian side are also expected.

Expert to Deputies of the European Parliament: “Today’s Ukraine Is a Hotbed of Fascism”

Ukrainian political emigrant and communist activist Aleksey Alby spoke to the deputies of the European parliament. Former member of regional council in Odessa, he works now as a head of department of political research of the post-Soviet space of the Institute of innovative development in Russia. Ukrainian anti-fascists and communists for several times addressed their speeches to European MPs in the assembly, but Alby believes he was the first of them. He made a speech in European Parliament at the hearings from the faction of the United Left GUE/NGL (European United Left–Nordic Green Left) of Eleonora Forenza.
