France | ‘Yellow vest’ protests against Macron snarl traffic across France

Thousands of people blocked roads across France Saturday in a “yellow vest” movement against high fuel prices which has mushroomed into widespread protest against stagnant spending power under President Emmanuel Macron.

Tempers flared as some drivers tried to force their way through demonstrators, and one protester was killed when a woman panicked and accidently rammed into a crowd.

Ukraine | Ukrainian fascists attack journalists

On November 18 Ukrainian fascists attacked two journalists in the center of Ukrainian capital.

One of them is a Canadian reporter Michael Colborne.

He was punched in the face by counterdemonstrators at a Transgender rights rally in Kyiv on November 18. He suffered a swollen lip and cuts on his face from his broken glasses. Colborne tweeted that the attack against him was “further proof” that Ukraine “has a huge far-right problem,” and that Ukrainian officials should “stop downplaying it.”

China | Xi Jinping, Mike Pence trade barbs over trade war at Apec summit

Chinese President Xi Jinping and US Vice-President Mike Pence traded barbs at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in Papua New Guinea on Saturday, with each laying the blame for the trade war and growing geopolitical rivalry at the other’s doorstep, while also seeking to sell their vision of a regional development strategy.
