Pakistan | Women movement activist from Pakistan calls to celebrate Russian revolution anniversary

Rubina Jamil, women activist and trade unionist from Pakistan, has shared an international appeal on coming international women’s day.

First of all she stressed the role of coming date. “We are celebrating 8th March International Women’s Day to commemorate and pay tribute to those brave women who started their struggle for peace, bread and liberty, and also against the war in Russia in 1917. We all are proud that these women workers led this struggle.”

The protest comes as more evidence surfaces pointing to the involvement of Mexican soldiers in the disappearance of the 43 students.

Classmates of the 43 disappeared Ayotzinapa students attacked a military base in Chilpancingo Wednesday, the capital of Mexico’s violence-ridden Guerrero state, amid frustrations over the failure of authorities to get to the bottom of the case more than two years after the students went missing.

How the EU destroys Ukraine’s forests

In 2015 Ukraine introduced a 10-year moratorium on the export of unprocessed timber. The decision was immediately met by harsh criticism from the EU officials. The EU argues the ban on exporting roundwood from Ukraine violates the trade part of the Association Agreement (signed by Ukraine).

And after the enormous pressure and blackmailing, the EU finally reached its aim, while caring not so much about Ukraine’s nature. On November 24, the President of The European Commission Jan-Claude Juncker stated that in coming weeks Ukraine is set to cancel the timber export ban and president Poroshenko is ready to submit the corresponding bill to the parliament. Jean-Claude Juncker, the President of the European Commission, linked fulfillment of this condition will allow EU to release EUR 600 million macro-financial assistance.
